The creative direction for the 2021/22 Annual Report is rooted in the idea that innovation is not isolated — it is interconnected, collaborative, and system-driven. The visual language draws inspiration from cellular structures and molecular networks, symbolising how research, technology, people, and policy function together as a cohesive ecosystem.

 

The honeycomb hexagonal grid serves as the central visual device. Hexagons are inherently strong, efficient, and interconnected — mirroring the structural resilience required in scientific advancement and national innovation systems.
